ABSTRACT
Ganglioneuroma is a rare benign neurogenic tumor arising mostly from the great chains of sympathetic ganglia which extend from the base of the skull to the pelvis including the adrenal medulla. It occurs most frequently in infant and young children predominently at posterior mediastinum and retroperitoneum.
Herein, the authors present three asese of retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma studied by computed tomography(CT)and/or sonography(US). Typical CT feature of retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma is a smooth-marginated, econgated, homogenous, relatively low density paravertebral mass displacing the kidney, ureter, aorta and/or inferior vena cava. Sonographically these tumors are low level rather uniformaly echogenic mass with a smooth well-defined margin.
