High resolution ultrasonography can give a detailed anatomy of the scrotum and can distinguish a variety of testicular pathologies. Along with radioisotope scanning, Doppler lutrasonography, clinical history and physical examination, high resolution ultrasonography can make an accurate decision regarding surgery or clinical follow-up.
We retrospectively analysed sonographs of the scrotum in 73 pediatric patients and report various scrotal abnormalities, evaluted by sonography. Ultrasonography could be helpful in the detection and differential dagnosis of a variety of scrotal pathologies in children.
